I'm originally from a small city just north of The Bronx, called Mt. Vernon. I attended public schools there; after which, I became an elementary teacer in Mt. Vernon. A few years later I went to teach with the American military schools in Germany. Weekends and summers were spent travelling with friends throughout Europe. Those two years gave me a keen appreciation for various ethnicities; including their customs, holidays, and foods. During the next 20 years, I married and later raised 2 girls on my own; returning to NY in the late 70's where we remained for the next 18 years. I'm a hopeless romantic;and although I hide it well, still believe in happy endings. I value kindness, a sense of humor, and compassion above all traits. I enjoy listening to music and my outlet in life is dancing.I'm looking for someone who has family values and likes to spend holidays with family. I was born of italian immigrants; and as such, raised a catholic. Spanning a lifetime of deep disappointments within catholicism, I sought solace in protestantism, with little success. Today, I would gladly follow any house of worship, whose clergy do only one thing~follow and teach The Ten Commandments. A likely partner might be one who loves his God, much the same way I do; without the trappings of archaic theologians. Hangin' out my friends is always fun, since there's so much to do in Florida. On a stormy day, I would like to be close with a man who has become adear friend, sharing some "comfort food". When that relationship has brought us much closer, we could laterwatch the boats go by on a clear day; or better yet, be on one. I have worked very hard through the years to now be retired and finanically secure. I am looking for someone who is at the same point in his life, give or take a few years. I would like to return to Germany & Italy someday, while we seek outmore of life's pleasures...the best one being to grow old with the one you love.
