So I'm two days past my 50th birthday, and I'm ready to begin again. Originally from NY, I'm a diehard Yankees fan, but when it's not baseball season, you would never know. I love music, especially live music and rarely turn down an opportunity to hear anything live. My taste is pretty varied. A Deadhead at heart, I've also been known to listen to Jazz, classic rock, broadway musicals and even some old fashioned disco. Not a big opera fan, can't stand rap, and not educated enough in classical though I'm open to learn. I read mostly non fiction. I enjoy reading history, biographies and about world affairs. Not sure when that change came about. I used to read mostly fiction, but now I feel that I get so little time to read, then if I'm going to read, I'd like to learn something. In my past life as a restaurant manager I learned to cook and am still very comfortable in a kitchen. I love to cook and entertain, though eating is not something that is so important to me at this stage of my life. I think I've finally come to understand that "food is fuel". I'm happy to watch you eat though. I love the outdoors. Hiking, camping, strolling along the canal. If the weather is nice, one should be outside. My faith has become more important to me in the last few years. Maybe it's because I'm hoping it will rub off on my son. I teach Hebrew school, and love teaching. I teach 5th grade Hebrew and about Israel. Having lived there for 10 years, its still a passion of mine. I speak Hebrew fluently. I like to think I'm well traveled. On my one cross country trip (too long ago), I saw 26 US states. I've also been to about a dozen different countries including Chile, South Africa, Hungary and Romania. Australia is still on my bucket list. TV Shows? Big Bang Theory, Nurse Jackie, Homeland, The Newsroom, Colbert Report, Daily Show, Oh and Star Trek. Any version, any episode.
