The perfect first date is meeting in a neutral corner unarmed. A quiet place for a cup of coffee, lunch, drink. etc. I like to go to one of the better hotels and sit at a table for two in the lounge and have a toddy or two. This is the time, after some phone conversations, where you can see if there's chemistry. It doesn't matter what's said, the body language and eyes tell it all. When you leave this first "date" the feeling should be that you can't wait to see the person again.

This is very hard. As good a judgment I have in business and friends, my choice in mates has not been that successful. I ended one relationship with a well known network news reporter. She became a stalker and quite relentless.
