| I Would Describe Myself As | Hello, my name is John. I want to briefly share with you a word about myself and what brings me to jsingles.com. Mid 2023, after 50 years away from the area I moved to Orange County to look after my 95 year old step-father. I am getting acquainted with the community close to Laguna Woods, including recreation (bicycle, kayak, body surf, hike, gym, garden, spa, tennis, some board games, singing), performance and visual arts, reading on a warm beach or picnic spot, and Jewish community services, causes and social events. I am twice married and amicably divorced, Family is dear to me, as are friends, but both are rather remote right now. Most of my career has involved financial analysis, and I continue in that lane now part time and remote. I enjoy travel, usually taking at least one trip two weeks or longer each year plus occasional long weekends away. I am interested in casual dating with potential for friendship and open to closer committed ties if chemistry and mutual interests seem inviting. I am a non-smoker, and drink infrequently (dark beer, white liquor and decent wine). Almost never gamble. My persuasions are socially liberal and financially conservative. Kindness, emotional intelligence, tolerance, humor, play, good judgment without being overly judgmental, learning from life experience, and opportunities to dance are all prized even more than appreciated. I do not keep Kosher, but value occasional religious holiday and Sabbath observance, as well as the well being of Israel and the Jewish diaspora. Although I have no pets at this time, I love dogs, am playful with cats, and am inclined to stop and listen when birds sing. |
