It's pretty cool being a Jew; our sages talk about the importance of being with someone, sure Christians talk about "the little church" (in the family), but we don't tell people to avoid spiritual and physical intimacy with another as a way of finding the divine.

What I miss in being single again – and for sure, I have a bigger retinue of people than when I got out of college, including adult children – is someone I can share my life with, have fun with, cuddle with, sing songs to, share my innermost thoughts with, and let’s not forget when all else fails –bingewatch shows with!

There are so many ways to connect with people these days. It matters to me that my beshert be Jewish.
